Our current "Veteran of Honor"

Dawn Halfaker - Our Veteran of Honor

Dawn Halfaker proves our point – Veterans are greater than Movie Stars.

Veterans are actually greater than Rock Stars, Professional Athletes and the Ice Cream Man (unless any Veterans double as of the previously listed jobs). Dawn is the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Halfaker and Associates. She is also an extremely successful strong woman who was injured in uniform while serving our country.

Dawn is a phenomenal role model for young men and women, entrepreneurs, and basically everyone. In our opinion, she is certainly WAY cooler than Kim Kardashian (or any other Kardashian!). Dawn spent her military career in the Army as a Military Police Officer. She was wounded during a combat patrol near Baghdad in 2004, earning a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

After her injury, Dawn had the courage and determination to not only survive but thrive. She now leads an extremely successful professional services and technology solutions firm that supports government organizations and commercial clients on issues of national and global interest across the Information Technology, Organization and Strategy, Intelligence, Operations and Resiliency and Supply Chain and Logistics spectrums.

She and her company are VERY highly regarded in the “beltway” DC area and trust me when I tell you that to stand out as a small consulting firm in that area IS a HUGE accomplishment.

In September, Dawn was named to the "2011 Fortune Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs"! She just rocks.

She’s a strong, patriotic, successful Veteran that is EXACTLY the type of person we should honor.
